Sometimes you just want need a really good burger. FACT.

Living in London, we’re pretty spoilt for choice for great food options – especially burgers. So, with regards to eating out in London, there’s actually so much choice that you needn’t eat at the same restaurant twice, if you don’t want to. However, there are some food joints that you will want to return to, again and again and again. MEATmission is one of those old faithfuls! The burgers are well-sized, very flavoursome and great quality.

Prices start at £7.50 for buffalo wings, £8 for a cheeseburger, and £9 for a chili dog. They also do a mean range of sides for around £3.50 - £5.50: onion rings, fried pickles, deep-fried mac ‘n’ cheese and – if you’re feeling saintly – a Greek salad!

When I received a press release telling me about their special ‘one night only’ burger, fries and some MEATliquor House Grog, all for just £10! Eek! With belt buckles well and truly tightened in January – for one over-indulgent reason or another – I was well up for this! I even managed to pursuade my usually very health conscious mate, Antonia, to join me for an east London burger date.

I don’t know about you, but living in the same city as your best mates doesn’t always guarantee that you see one another on a weekly basis… In fact, I probably see my blogger mate, Mat, from Buckets and Spades blog, more regularly than my London friends – and he has to travel down from Blackpool! Jeez!

What we ordered from the MEATmission menu

To eat

  • 1 x cheeseburger
  • 1 x bacon cheeseburger
  • 1 x slaw (to share)
  • 1 x fries (to share)

To drink

1 x St Lawrence cocktail: woodford rye shaken with maple syrup, fresh lemon juice & a dash of bitters with an orange twist - £8

1 x House Grog (limited to 2 per person!): dangerous blend of light & dark rums with a splash of overproof rum shaken with our secret grog mix, served long - £8.50

1 x Juice

They also do a great range of shots, sharing cocktails, milkshakes, floats, draught beers, lagers and IPA, Cider and cans – Estrella, Hobo eer, Magic Rock, Harbour Brewing, Moor – and a strange combination of Deer + Beer – Jägermeister and beer combined! (If the house grog doesn’t finish you off, then this is bound to get you going!) Take a look at the Meatmission drinks menu.

Over the years, I’ve reviewed a fair few burger restaurants – take a peek and let me know who’s missing off this burger list… I’m always up for trying out new places.

Thanks to MEATmission for inviting us down to fill our bellies and gather a bit food porn content for the blog! Always a joy!
