Lucie Loves… Food // Forge: The Wolf of Wall Street in restaurant form | part two

The lighting in Forge is one of the things that I fell head-over-heels with. This place has style. Considered use of ambient lighting complements the interiors industrial style and does wonders for one’s complexion.

I admit it, I’m a bit of a lighting snob. But this place really ticked all the boxes: low-lighting, industrial fittings, copper shades, candles, and backlighting. Stunning!

Forge isn’t just an amazing restaurant that serves delectable cocktails. It’s also a club, with a VIP area and private drinking section for hire downstairs. Gorgeous leather booths, copper-piped spirit dispensers and a well-stocked bar set the scene. This place was made for a party!

Meanwhile, upstairs we dined on steak and tried another fabulous cocktail from the menu. No. 92. For £30 you get a carafe filled Hendrick’s Gin, apricot liqueur, lemon juice, sugar syrup, cucumber juice, apple juice, rosemary and soda water and a couple of tumbler glasses. Perfect for sharing.

The bar came alive with the sound of live music. The London Essentials were in the house and moved from table to table, serenading people with live music. Both off-the-wall renditions of classic tunes and modern dance floor fillers flowed effortlessly from one song to the next. We were awe-struck by these guys!

Having eaten our weight in cooked meats, we chose a light desert: grilled banana, served with a warm chocolate sauce. Heaven. For such a simple dish, it was presented in a perfect, fuss-free manner and tasted delicious.

All in all, Forge was a hoot!

We’ll definitely be back with friends and family. This place is one that deserves shouting about and showing off! Fantastic food and excellent customer service. Book to avoid disappointment.
