Lucie Loves... Tech // #ICanStayAwakw with Sony Xperia Z3 House of Vans - 48 hour movie marathon

Earlier this year I was asked by Sony and Time Out London to get involved in the #ICancampaign. Myself and fellow bloggers The Everyday Manand Lunges and Lycra were asked to test the amazing powers of Sony’s Xperia Z3 and see how well it fitted in with our blogger lifestyles.

I took mine for a test-walk in The Lakes and climbed to the top of Bowfell, all the while, snapping away at the sublime landscape around me.

Having the lightweight and robust Xperia Z3 on hand, meant that I didn’t have to worry about having my expensive DSLR dangling around my neck, as I scrambled across the rather treacherous narrow paths. Take a look at my post showing how the Xperia Z3 performed against my Canon 5D MKIII DSLR camera.

Time Out and Sony joined forces with the creators of Rooftop Film Club to celebrate a shared passion: their love of film. People across the UK were invited to get their hands on free cinema tickets to films being screened over two days at the brilliant House of Vans venue in London.

From ‘80s classics like ‘The Breakfast Club’, 'Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’, 'Top Gun’ and 'Dirty Dancing’. To more recent indie releases like 'AMY’ (which I thought was incredible!), 'Eden’ and 'Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck’, there was something for everyone. Even horror fans were in for a treat and given pillows to hide behind if the films got too scary.

I took along my Xperia Z3 to see how it performed under the atmospheric and rather dark arches of Waterloo station: home to House of Vans skate venue and The Wall SE1 cafe.

I’ve been incredibly impressed with the Xperia Z3′s extensive battery life, especially after testing out the 4K video and multitude of photo options. Interested in seeing the Z3′s full specs? Take a look.

As I’d never seen The Breakfast Club before – despite being a kid who grew up in the 80s, so I couldn’t wait to see if this was the timeless coming-of-age classic that everyone raves about.

It was. I stuffed my face with breakfast pastries and popcorn and sipped on fresh coffee, whilst blubbering my way through the scene where the ‘high school geek’ opens up his heart and confronts the ‘cool kids’.

Oh man. That really hit me hard.

After the film had finished JMG and I checked out the Screaming Hand Art Show and dolled up skateboard decks lining the walls.

After watching a skateboarding lesson in session, (and marvelling at the talented youngsters on the ramps) we rounded off our morning nicely with more coffee and Huevos Rancheros in The Wall SE1 cafe.

All in all it was the perfect Sunday morning date.
