Lucie Loves... Food // It's hip to dip those chips at HIPCHIPS! Crisp lovers rejoice as London's hippest trend supports Vegans!

Being vegan doesn’t mean you can’t access decent, fun and fast convenient food. Last week I visited one of the latest trendy food restaurants to pop up in London, HIPCHIPS.

Located in the heart of Soho, HIPCHIPS is the world’s first crisp and dip café. They recently launched their new range of delicious vegan dips to celebrate Veganuary. Don’t worry if like me you’re more acquainted with crisps coming in a foil bag of your favourite flavour... The crisps served at HIPCHIPS are cut from heritage potatoes including Highland Burgundy, Salad Blue, Pink Fir Apple, Shetland Black and Red Duke of York. Who knew there was an education to be had in potatoes!

Hipchips, Soho Veganuary menu

Despite being created with vegans in mind, it's perfect for those who are just having a crack at Veganuary – or folks simply trying to eat meat free in the New Year. Their new dips are a tasty treat – perfect for those craving something a little naughtier, but options are available to cater for the more health-conscious too.

Here's what a Hipchips selection box looks like

There are two choices of toppings when you order, savoury (salt) or sweet (cinnamon sugar). I opted for savoury this time around, but the real fun comes when choosing the dips. I had the large box, which comes with six dips:

  • Coconut Dahl with Carrot Pickle

  • Veggie Ceviche

  • Baba Ganoush

  • Beetroot & Lemongrass Marmalade

  • Tomato Salsa

  • Vegan Chocolate Mousse

When HIPCHIPS say large, they mean large! I couldn’t believe the size and quantity. Every dip was packed full of flavour and showed real variety. My favourite was the Vegan Chocolate Mousse, which I saved until the end. The combination of the sweet mousse and savoury crisp was utter perfection.

Trying to be Vegan?
If you’re taking part in Veganuary or like me going to stick to the vegan diet full time please do yourself a favour and head down to HIPCHIPS, you won’t regret it!
