Lucie Loves... Lingerie // That summer day that changed it all...
“Never will I forget that there was love in the air.”
I’ve always been a huge fan of lingerie, but despite doing outfit shoot after outfit shoot for my fashion section of the blog, I hadn’t ever really focused my attention on reviewing as much pretty lingerie as I’d have liked.
I couldn’t wait to try on these new pieces.
Dreamy summer days and feeling free – that’s what this photoshoot was all about. The sunshine flooded into the little farm’s outbuildings and brought an air of romance to the weather-worn wood and chipped paint backdrops that we’d chosen.
It had been a while since I’d seen my photographer friend, Heather Tait. We first met back when I was at university in 2005. Almost every year since then, we’ve got together in a sort of photographer/muse-type fashion to photograph me, the changes in my body as I get older, and also to play around with both natural and studio lighting and locations.
Life kind of got in the way last year – we were well overdue a catchup and a photo session. So when Panache got in touch with me to share their SS16 collection, it was a great excuse to jump on a train to the midlands, get my kit off and frolic on Heather’s beautiful farm in the rolling midlands countryside. Oh! And have a good heart to heart too.
I figured that as my body isn’t going to look like this forever, I ought to celebrate it. I hope you like the photos and the pieces that I picked out.
The bra and knickers worn in the first look are actually from M&S, but were worth including in the series. Unfortunately, I can’t find the link to the exact set online, but they do have lots of other gorgeous pieces. What I love about M&S is that the bras are such good quality – they literally last years – and the range for DD+ big boobed girls like me is pretty decent too. I really liked the longline detail of this bra.
The second set featured is called Georgia, and is from Panache’s SS14 collection. The pretty pale blue and blush bra is pretty and feminine, without being overly girly.
Then comes Jasmine – a striking cobalt/azure blue mosaic print with delicate lace detailing, and matching thong.
Finally, last but not least, another of my favourites from their collection, is Floris. A floral and paisley print balconnet style bra, which is available in up to a K cup. Amazing.
If you haven’t seen it already, check out Panache’s Modelled by Role Models campaign. It’s pretty damn cool. A true celebration of women’s bodies in all shapes and sizes. I love it!
Are there any other lingerie brands that cater for DD+ sizes that I should be checking out? Please post your thoughts and suggestions below.
