Now you know the saying, ‘summer bodies are made in the winter’ but yet another year has gone by with me not quite getting there - I blame Christmas! However, this year I’ve booked an autumn holiday in September. A holiday which is exactly 12 months away.

In anticipation, this week I started the Results with Lucy ‘HIIT Harder’ programme. It is a 12 week plan and is her most advanced yet. The plan consists of 4 sessions a week - one day working out followed by a rest day etc. Each day is made up of 4 to 5 videos, each varying in length but the longest is around 10 minutes.

There is always a warm up and a cool down and in between there are 3 different videos with different workouts targeting different areas. I’ve only done a week so far but I’m already feeling the burn! The workouts are intense, but so far quite enjoyable and although in total it takes around 45 minutes, it is broken up into 5 different sections so it really isn’t too bad.

It also comes with an EatWell Plan, which has healthy recipes to follow and costs £59 for the 12 weeks, Don’t worry it comes with a 2 week pause, which is great if you’re going on holiday or just need a little break!

My only reservation is the fact that I’m a regular gym goer - I like physically going to the gym and also I like to get my money’s worth!

However, because this plan is based around online video content I’m apprehensive about how it will be feasible in the gym setting as you really need the audio and visuals for the timing of each exercise. So far I’ve been doing it in the living room when my housemates are out, but it’s not really the best place jumping around!

To try and get around this issue I’ve ordered some bluetooth headphones to use in the gym, hopefully this will allow me to have my phone on the floor to watch the video but still be able to hear the audio whilst I do the exercises.

Watch this space for updates!

Depending on how I get on, I may post some progress pictures of myself but in the meantime this is the fitspiration - Lucy Mecklenburgh herself! Corrrr!
