Lucie Loves...Blogged // The Cosmic Painted Maxi Skirt | Looking back over #SS12 + Meeting @YBDfashion Designer @ByYanTo

With #LFW now upon us and people getting ready to sink their teeth into the #SS13 designer collections, I thought it would be nice to have a peek back at some of the fun I had when I met the fabulous Designer - Yan To at his studio. I initially heard about Yan To through @YBDfashion (

) YBD are a fabulous platform for discovering new British Design talent and are responsible for showcasing and supporting some of today’s Brightest Young Things! So when I was invited over to photograph the designer in his natural environment, I was delighted to play ‘dress-up’ in some of his pieces. This spray painted maxi skirt was an experimental piece that I completely fell in LOVE with! It reminded me of some of the stunning ‘Cosmic’/ ‘Space-age’ style prints that had been BIG this summer with designers like Draw In Light, another YBD-ling and favourite of mine.

As I twirled around in the garden outside Yan To’s Studio, I could see the sunlight picking out new areas of colour and interest. The raw edge of the fabric, the brace’s and the way the skirt hangs were rather magical really. But I suppose ‘Magic’ is something that Yan To does best! (See his: Magic Dress
